KV’s S&P 500 Levels

Weekly Market Recap
Tech Stocks Struggle
After leading the market in 2024, mega-cap technology stocks have struggled in 2025, with only two of the Magnificent 7 outperforming the S&P 500. Extended valuations, trade uncertainties, and a broadening earnings cycle have shifted leadership to financials, energy, and health care. With 10 of 11 S&P 500 sectors positive, we expect continued outperformance in large and mid-cap growth and value stocks.
Treasury Yields Stabilize
After surging to 4.8% in early January, the 10-year Treasury yield has settled around 4.5%. This stability is due to contained inflation, potential government cost-cutting, and signs of slowing economic growth. Lower-than-expected retail sales and cautious corporate guidance have raised the odds of Fed rate cuts. We anticipate yields to stay range-bound, with the Fed possibly considering one or two cuts if the labor market weakens.
Europe Outperforms
European stocks have outpaced U.S. markets, with the EuroStoxx 50 up 13% YTD versus the S&P 500’s 4%. A weaker U.S. dollar, stronger eurozone economic data, and optimism over a Russia-Ukraine settlement have supported the rally. However, sustaining this momentum is uncertain, and we expect U.S. equities to outperform long-term as structural growth advantages persist.

Coming Up…
Important economic releases this week include PCE inflation and a read on consumer confidence. On the earnings front, NVDA, FUBO, SNOW, AI, RIOT, DELL, CRM, MARA, AMC, and HD are expected to report this week.

Trading Quote Of The Week
Patterns don't work 100% of the time. But they are still critical because they help you define your risk. If you ignore patterns and focus on hunches, feelings, and hot tips, just forget about achieving consistency.
